What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? SC

From everything I have read so far, this area is so gray or leaning towards absolutely illegal. Their friends are saying it is not illegal for them to be boyfriend/girlfriend non-sexually. I personally think it is illegal?!

Anyone know what SC law is on this (sexual and non-sexual)? They are ~51 months apart in age...

Perhaps you need to focus on your adult daughters need to date little boys.

I agree. Believe me, it is making me sick to my stomach. This is all within 2 weeks of her breaking up with a good college freshman. She is immature though, but still. EWWW!!! I just need to know where to prove to her it is illegal since she no longer believes me.
I mean this boy is 3 months younger than her own brother is 4 years younger than her. Again - ewwwww!

Your DD is a legal adult and culpable for her decisions. If I were her parent I would contact the parents of the little boy and talk to them. This child needs to be protected from an adult. DD will have to deal with the legal ramifications of her choices. As a parent you can't allow a child to be placed in danger.

I would go a step further.

Tell your daughter that anything she was hoping to pump you for financially over the next several years is now in jeopardy.

If she wants to date children, she will do it under her own roof. Tell her that you don't want to be accused of helping an adult corrupt a child. Tell her that it is morally repulsive.

Just tell her that it stops immediately or she lives somewhere else. Period.

I was searching for laws concerning this and found very little. The only thing I discovered is if there is anything sexual, she can be in serious trouble. Anything includes talking about sex with the intent to arouse so if she does anything to excite him, it is illegal.

as the others have stated, at 18, your daughter is an adult and subject to adult courts and penalties. In light of all of the teacher student relationships (I know, not specifically applicable here), many people are simply outraged by anything of the sort and the courts tend to reflect the general populace' moral outrage. They do that by being more aggressive in their prosecutions for any given area of crime.

If daughter believes this is anything close to appropriate, I suggest she seek psychiatric counseling.
