What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? OH

Is it illegal for a 15 year old to subscribe to 'adult' dating sites where naked women pose for 'dates'? How about Tumblr, and on their dashboard(?) advertised in email are cartoon characters having sex, bondage scenes, rape, etc?

He used an email account that I have the password for, I don't want this crap on my PC and now it is because I opened the emails not knowing what was in them. And now I know it's there, and I know he signed up for it, I don't want to be accused of having 'kiddie porn' since some of the characters represent teen girls.

Yes it is illegal for a 15 year old to look at porn. Not cartoon characters but porn.

To whom should I report it? The caseworker won't do anything about it. Apparently she asks the foster(kinship placement) parents if he is accessing it, they ask him, he says 'no' and they tell the caseworker he's not, and then it all gets dropped. I forwarded some of the signup emails to her as she requested, but not the later emails that were loaded with the porn. I didn't want to be then accused of distributing porn.

I'd suggest reviewing p/x.
I typed out a long reply, then it wouldn't post. Bottom line, I'm still trying to get our GS help. If you saw a teen who was an A/B student, involved and a leader in a lot of organizations, talented musician, etc, and is now failing school, dropped out of everything, cut off all contact with his half-siblings, his parents, all family he knew & loved growing up, in trouble with authorities, almost truant, accessing porn that depicts violent and degrading acts, plays graphic and violent video games, and now he's joined a 4H Sharpshooter club, wouldn't you be doing everything possible to get him help? Even if it meant turning him in for illegal use of porn? I tried to get the foster parents to stop it, I tried to get his caseworker to stop it. Heck, I thought she'd be a mandated reporter!

CPS has backed off on everything he accused us of, but they won't return him because he threatens to kill himself if they do. This is how he learned to get what he wants in foster care.

If the bolded is part of what you consider "needing help" then i'm starting to see why he might not be the biggest fan of you and your "parenting".

That bolded stuff contributed to his suspension from school. It contributed to unacceptable behavior with his girlfriend. It's also poor parenting by the people he is with. Since he has been placed there he has gotten very hostile. He burned all his bridges with the kids he used to be friends with. This girl he now likes is also on the fringe, not well liked, cutter, suicide risk, but also involved in guns. These kids should not be around guns. We have guns, I'm not anti-gun, but when you see someone you think should not have a gun in their hands you better think about it.

Stealth, he used an email account for which he had given me the password before CPS took him. I monitored the email account. Open an email to see what's in it, and it's downloaded to my PC.

Nobody has said, do I report the porn to our local Sheriff's office?

The porn is on YOUR computer and was sent to an email account that you acknowledge accessing. I would suggest a consultation with an attorney, not with the police.

Accessing porn at 14 or 15? Is that unusual for a boy that age?

Our juvie facilities would be way beyond capacity if all were reported and investigated. Seriously, you're overzealous.

Perhaps I mis-interpreted the OP's post. I assumed that she was talking about kiddie-porn. Looking back, I now see that there's no mention of it being kiddie porn... There is the OP's assumption that a cartoon depiction of a teenager is kiddie porn.

I wasn't responding to your post, Zig. I understand the assumption with the OP's somewhat frantic post.

With regard to the entire situation, I believe there is a lot more to the story OP has shared. I'm not implying that she's lying or even intentionally omitting information, but it seems to me that she's concluded a lot of things that may be wrong in her other threads. And, her actions are based on those possibly incorrect conclusions.

Thank you Zigner, that makes sense.

To tie some of my posts together, GS was diagnosed as oppositional a few weeks after we got custody at 5.5. We know his mother & her mother, the boy gets it genetically and then having 2 abusive stepmothers didn't help. We had him about half his life between 19 months and 5.5, after the final abuse by the last stepmother he was very much changed. I kept detailed notes about his behavior, how we addressed it, what steps we took to address it. I recognized attachment issues early. At 19 months he never cried for his mother, never asked about her or his 6 month old half-siblings. He was attached to his dad, but dad's choices had negative effects over the years. I had forgotten how oppositional he was until I reviewed my notes.

We thought he was doing well, an excellent student, musician, active & a leader in various clubs, on track to start college classes while in high school, etc; that's why I had forgotten what he had been like. He lied. He lied about us, he lied to us, he tried to manipulate everyone. We held steady until he found an inexperienced caseworker who believed his lies and took him. He was rebelling against our parenting. We never allowed porn, or violent 'shooter' and sex-filled video games. We allowed him to go to parties, if I met the parents and got confirmation they'd be supervised. He went to football games and other fun things. He still lied.

He now lives with his mother's aunt & her husband. They allow the porn & video games. He quit all activities, except making out with the girlfriend in the lunchroom. He got a 2 day suspension for the way he talked to the principal, not for the PDA. Great-uncle said he was just seeking nurturing. Great-uncle denies his activity on the net, although great-aunt told the psychiatrist. He's missed all or part of 17 days of school this year, plus 2 days of field trips. He's failing 2 classes, D's in 2 more.

CPS has not and will not be charging us with anything, but they won't return him because he's jerking them around. Why would he want to come home when he gets to have the girlfriend stay overnight, play with guns, play on the net, drink his cousins beer, play 17+ rated video games? He knows that will not be allowed here.

When you read about some of these mass school shooters you see a kid that was oppositional, became isolated in teen years, stayed in their rooms playing the violent video games, and played with guns. This is what our GS has become in his great-aunts care. The great-aunt & her husband have encouraged him to call his parents by their first names and be extremely hateful toward them. He no longer sees them, his half siblings, another set of grandparents that adopted 2 of his maternal half-siblings. We finally got to see him in a 'family counseling' session CPS allowed 14 months after they took him. That was in Dec. We saw him again this week at a CPS review where he raged and called us by first names, too; also encouraged by the great-aunt & her husband.

Our plan is to withdraw from seeking reunification, CPS has already filed to place legal custody with the great-aunt & her husband. Then our son will file to get visitation. He was supposed to have visitation now, but CPS says they can't make him go and the great-aunt & her husband say they aren't going to make him go to visitation. Our son will be able to file in a different county once CPS is out of the way, since they live in an adjoining county. We feel obligated to try to provide moral guidance, but that's almost impossible now. When he was placed where he is now we weren't informed about it until it was a done deal. The GAL said they raised 2 good kids, they could handle him. The GAL didn't know they had 3 kids and the third is a POS, and by all accounts our grandson is following in that path.

PS, hard-core porn on the net is NOT your father's Playboy! Even the Anime porn is NOT your father's Playboy. The bondage and graphic violence scenes are destructive to most people, and especially to a teenager forming relationships.

And that's the rest of the story.
