What is the name of your state? Florida
My daughter is 17 was involved in a fight with 3 other girls. 3 against 1 she was one of the 3. This happened while she was visiting one of the 3 over the summer in Palm Bay. A couple of days later she was asked to come in to be interviewed by a detective. after the interview she was told she may be charged with assult. I was unaware of this. My daughter told me when she returned home a few days later. Home is in the keys 200 miles away. She has never been in any trouble before with the police in any way.
Now a month later i get a call from the father of her friend she was staying with that she has to appear before a juvinile case worker? To determine if this should go to trial. The letter was sent to his address on 0ct. 9 we have to appear on the 13 of oct. She turns 18 in november. What is the worst that can happen? Can a change of venue because of the distance. If convicted community service in the keys?, Juvinile jail here there. Help
Thank You

forget the change of venue. It won't happen.

As for what may happen, anything from probation to jail time. That's up to the caseworker and the judge if it goes to trial. And they MAY decide, since she's almost 18, to try her as an adult.

Better get her butt there for the appointment.
