My 18 yr old nephew lives in Arkansas and was arrested 2 mos. ago for statutory rape. He pled guilty and his bond is $40,000 and his family cannot afford to bail him out. Since we haven't experienced anything like this we have several questions. 1) How can one get out with no $$$? We see people get out all the time and are sure they are broke! 2) What do you think his sentence will be? 3) He's in a county jail and has been outdoors one time in 2 months. Does he have any rights to go outdoors periodically? He is a good kid, just made a wrong choice here. The female was his girlfriend. There wasn't any violence. Her mother pressed charges and later went to drop them, only to discover that the state had control and she couldn't drop them. Would it be beneficial for me to write a letter to the judge on his behalf? I have been writing to my nephew every single day since he's been behind bars. He is definitly not a threat to society and being in jail is only causing him to become depressed. I want to get him out of there!!He really deserves to be back in society.
Please answer!! Anything will help!!
Thank you in advance!!
