My husband in the last 3 weeks bought a 1999 HOnda Passport from a guy in Chicago, IL. He bought the SUV for $5700., it has a 102,000. miles on it. Since we have bought the truck we have had to redo the brakes, transfer seal was leaking, interlock cylanoid, fuel filter, pump and fuel regulator. So, we have drove the SUV approximately a week out of the three weeks that we have owned it. We have put approximately a thousand dollars, into the truck already...Next, we have had trouble getting the truck plated....The original owners never signed off of the SUV. Thus, we can not get plates for the SUV. I sent the title back to the original owner a car dealer to get them to find the original owner of the SUV, however, they can't find them so the car dealer sent out a letter to the original homeowner. This SUV has been sold two other times...how did they plate it or did they? I cannot get plates for this SUV, so I drive it illegally. What is my recourse? Do I have any? I believe that the guy we bought the truck from didn't know of its issues..but, kind of strange that I have only had the SUV for this short amount of time and I have already put this much into it..Any advice -greatly appreciated~!!!!!
