What is the name of your state? MN
I was previously paying two support orders, 1 in MN for 13 yr old, and 1 in WI for 5 yr old. I reside in MN. 13 yr old's mother died, and now she lives with me and I no longer pay support for her. My 1st support order was taken into consideration when the 2nd was enforced. Now that my circumstances are quite different, should I consider having my order modified, or will the courts possibly increase my order now that I'm not paying anyone else to raise my 13 yr old? I am single and 5 yr old's mother is getting married. I was never married to either mother.

It could be a toss-up. While you're no longer paying support for the 1st child, you are supporting that child. I'd leave it alone at this point, and let Mom #2 fiel for a mod if she decides to.

I know you are in MN, but here in TX, it doesn't matter because it is according to the number of children that you have. 1=20% 2=17% and so forth. Check for this in MN.

i asked a lawyer who is licensed in MN and WI. this was his reply:

Your order should not change since you are given credit, in the amount of child support guidelines, for providing care for the child.
