this is my first DUI. I recieved the DUI in Georgia (fulton county). They only charged me with two offenses, 1)DUI and 2) Improper driving on roadway. The thing is that I crashed my car into a tree and blew a .21. I have decided to represent myself in court due to the fact that it will be really hard for me to be found innocent and I did not want to hire an expensive lawyer if I was going to plead guilty. Anyway, I am planning on pleading guilty, what are the chances that I will have to serve a jail sentence. The law in GA states that they can put you in jail for 10 days to 12 months, but the judge can dismiss all but 24 hrs of the sentence. I already spent the night in jail, I really can not afford to go back to jail b/c of work, night classes, etc. Will they throw the book at me b/c of the accident and the high .21 bac? What, if anything, can I do to minimize the length of jail term?

Please help, my court date is this monday 02/05/01 at 9 am. I am planning on asking for a pre-trial, at the beginnig of court, to talk to the solicitor and tell him that I am willing to plead guilty for minimum or no jail time. thanks!!

You are a BOZO for not having a lawyer plead for you.

You are wasting good money and space going to night school.

Because it hasnt tought you.. never to represent yourself in court...

Judges proceutors are human too, and some can be scumbags too, so if the judges wife just left him for another man yesterday...dont expect a break, at least a lawyer will know how to appeal having the book thrown at you!
