Hi All,

The other night I was driving (in Colorado) and was stopped for "weaving" and "driving under the influence" but fortunately I didn't cause an accident or any damage. I refused the breathalyzer and blood test then I was arrested and taken to the station and charged with a misdemeanor and later released to a sober driver. In addition, I will be leaving next month (Aug 23) to teach in Vietnam, while my court date is on Sep 9. I will call to attempt to reschedule my court date for when I come back in December. To play devil's advocate, I know if I missed my court date I'd have a warrant issued on my outstanding DUI misdemeanor charge. But, what else could happen if I missed my court date and just down the road "turned myself in?" Is there any way since it is my 1st offense and I didn't injure anyone else I could plea bargain it down to something less severe? Or is that dependent on my atty? Thanks again!
