About 6 months ago my husband was involved in a car accident. We found out at the time of the accident that he had been dropped from his insurance and we ended up paying for the damages to the other car out of pocket. It was a small incident and it had hardly scratched the paint on our car. The driver of the other car was insured by a certain company as she had listed in the accident report and they later contacted us to reimburse them for the medical bills she turned in to them. Now we are being contacted by a different insurance company for the same accident. Can more than 1 company claim an accident or is she possibly involved in insurance fraud?
