2 people using the same SS#?

What is the name of your state? California

Usually I frequent the family law forum, so I'm not sure if I'm posting this in the right place (please forgive me if I am). I have a question regarding a Social Security Number. My ex-husband is a long time child support evader (owes us more than 45k) and I have always suspected that he hides his money with his parents. I did an online background check on him and his social security number comes up under both my ex's name and his father's name. What could this mean? Is it normal for 2 people to show up with the same SS#? My own SS# comes up with only myself. I am totally clueless on this type of thing.

it is not "normal" but it happens alot, usually an innocent error on someone's part, but many times numbers are used to get employment, and other times to apply for credit. They do not have the same number, they have just reported using the same number. There is no way to tell from a background check the nature of that usage.

No, I almost included that in my original post. ;) Their first and middle names are completely different.
