[Florida: I just bought a 3,000$ car from a wholesaler in south florida about two weeks ago. I had an appointment to come see a car posted on Craigslist. I get there and they said they sold the car 20 mins before I got there, but they have another car similiar. They sell me on the car. I get bait and switched.

I sign papers saying there is not warranty even verbal. But I recorded a verbal warranty of them promising a refund if there is motor or transmission damage while drive home up to 250 miles. None of the papers I signed and they were suppose to sign were signed by them (might be a loophole). I spoke with a lawyer and he said the verbal recording might be allowed in court.

I drive home and within 20 miles the motor blows. They did tow it back the next day. They bullsh*t and make up many stories and promises on what's wrong and what they can do for me. (I recorded some conversations with speakerphone. They even said they "could get a better car for me" Last night they said it was a problem caused by their mechanic putting hoses on improperly. Today the story is different and its my fault because I "should have seen it overheating" (it blew with no warning).

Now they are acting like they are being so nice and will split the 1800$ cost halfway with me on a new motor. I said I want the refund or the better car like they gave their word on, but they talk around that and say basically no that I need to either pay the 900$ or get a broken car. I am so depressed and have no idea what to do. I dont have 900$ more dollars on a car I barely wanted to get in the first place. They clearly don't care about their verbal promises.

What do I do? Please help me.

About the only thing you can do is to sue them in small claims court.
