Maryland, i have had my car for 5 months, it has been in the shop over 6 times. the air cond. need fixed, a fuel leveler need replaced, and the computer need updated. since the update on the computer my car has a jerk in it, driving around 40-65 mph. the car never had this problem befor, but when i took the car to the shop i was told this is normal. i feel i have been misled, and i know this is not normal. i know alot of people with the same type car that has had no problems with their car at all, and their car does not jerk while driving down the highway. i am getting no where with the dealer who sold me the car. this is a brand new car, car of the year, and it is junk. what can i do to get out of this car?::mad:

the reason why the manufacturer (in this case Chrysler) offers a warranty on their vehicles is because they break! they are made of metal pieces, the metal pieces are made by human beings and human beings install the metal pieces or robots built by human beings install the pieces - there is a lot of room for human error, therefore you have a warranty. i understand that purchasing a new vehicle is a very big investment and so does the manufacturer. the dealership did not build your car, nor do they make the warranty on it, nor do they have any decision making authority over Chrysler. If Chrysler says it's normal for your car to jerk, the dealership cannot over ride them and start replacing parts on your car just because they want to. The place to start is by calling Chrysler customer service to express your disappointment that "such - and - such" dealership cannot fix your problem. Don't get nasty with Chrysler or they will tell you to go piss in your hat. The next thing to do is to make sure you have all your documentation in order - how many times have you been in to the dealer for each of your concerns? How many months old is your car and how many miles are on it? How many days have each of the repair orders been open from start of repair to the end? These answers will help me determine where you should go from here, but do call Chrysler. Keep me posted and please write back with answers.

Thank you for responding, I have had my car since April. 6 months now. The car has been in the shop 8 times for the same problem and other problems. The dealer did do a computer update on the car for the Jerking, which did not help the car. Now since the update, they say the car runs fine, that it is operating normal. We had a second oppinion done on the car with another Chrysler dealer, who said that they would not rule out that there was a problem with the car, but that because the update was done, and was suppose to fix this problem there is nothing else that can be done with the jerk. And so that is why Chrysler is saying the car runs normal. I have already contacted Chryslers Zone office. They are going along with the dealer. Every time the car has been in the shop it has come back the same day, or the next day depending on if they needed to order parts. See the car has not only had an update to the computer done, but it also has had the air conditioner fixed, the fuel leveler fixed and just a few weeks ago, it had to have spark plugs, because all the plugs failed, when tested by the other dealer where I took the car for a second oppinion. (which they stated was odd that the car need plugs so soon.) The car has 7900 miles right now....any help would be appriciated....Thanks....Tristy
