since i have the buyback paper in my hands is it a good idea to purchase the new car that we wanted? or should we wait until the buyback is complate which might take 1 month or more. i hate the idea of driving this car around and something happening like getting in an accident, getting the car damaged, etc....plus the new car we wanted is $5,000 off the msrp which is hard to beat, the deal lasts until April 4th.

let me know, thanks.

I don't know what your financial situation is so I cannot advise you on car purchases.

But I sure wouldn't be driving the buyback car.

i can buy another car, but what if something falls through with the buyback?
the dealership still has to do the final inspection on the car also. but im just wondering why does Chevy take 1 month to complete a buyback.? Also, my lawyer says we're having trouble locating a dealer who will perform the buyback because of customer/dealership relations that were not so good.

overall since Chevy has 30 days to complete the buyback is there anything i can do to speed this up. i asked my lawyer who is trying to speak to the Chevy rep who's handling this case and he is supposed to get back to me this week. im trying to buy another car in which im getting a great deal on that ends April 4th. so if the buyback isn't complete then i have to deal with waiting until i get a good deal and be without a car.

You do realize you are not getting you full purchase amount returned, they are deducting your mileage in reference to the buy back, right? Why not buy a new car now.

Example: If you bought a 20k car GM will deduct 20 cents per mile you drove it, then you get the difference.

If you bought a 40kcar GM will deduct 40 cents per mile you drove it, then you get the difference.

I'd like to VIS your car through the GM database if you supply your Vin#. That way we can see exactly what they have done anytime it has been to a GM dealer.
