California.
Yesterday I had laser hair removal done on my stomach, but the doctor had the laser up too high. She zapped me on about a 3x2 rectangle on my stomach before she realized she was burning my skin. She then turned the machine down and continued to do another 1 inch square. This still made my skin burn but not as badly. Once she saw how bad the burns were she turned the machine down very low and did another part of my body. After we were finished the pain was excruciating. I came home and had my husband call and tell them what happened. We placed ice on the area and noticed that there were second degree burns where she placed the laser. A few hours later another doctor called and told me they would fill a prescription for me and that there was no need to go to a doctor. They said that this has happened before and that I burned because I was tan, but I have not been in the sun for a month and a half. They seem to be trying to keep me from seeing a doctor about the burns, but I am afraid they are going to scar. If they have done this before they should not be in business. What should I do. If I end up having scars, I am definately suing them, how do you go about doing that?

You need to see another doctor, and not rely on what you think are 2nd degree burns. What are you waiting for? See your regular family doctor.
