This happened in Mass...

I got my second DUI and am just looking for some answers.

I got pulled over by a state trooper on the highway who called in the locals to haul me off. I didnt take the breathalizer so I know I lost my licence for 3 years. 26 days sober so far...(and without smokes). Im out on $500 bail.

heres my questions
I started a higher paying job about a month and a half ago so I dont qualify for a court appointed lawyer. My main concern over this DUI is I dont want to lose this job.... I have court again at the end of the month and still no lawyer. They all sent me emails saying $2500-$3000 upfront to take the case. I will have between $800-$1000 by my next court date so Im hoping I can use it as a downpayment.
what would happen if i went to court and said i dont have all the money yet for a lawyer? would/could i be held? It says 30 days mando from what ive read but on lawyers websites they mention an alternate dispostion of a 14 day rehab/probation and aa meetings... Id rather do that and possibly a suspended sentence then serve jail time and lose my job... any advice?
