What is the name of your state? Arizona

I know that there is a law stating that my husbands ex must send medical bills within 30 days for him to be legally liable to pay them. Last week we got over $2,000 dollars of medical bills and a lot of them are over 17 months old. He had no idea that these bills even existed and she is now saying that she wants 1/2 of the cost sent to her. He is obligated to provide 1/2 of the bills but he has been trying to explain to her that it would be a lot easier to pay half if it is not over a year of bills at once. Does anybody know what the law is or can they provide me with a link to it because I am having trouble finding it online but I talked to a lawyer and she said there is a law but she is out of town for the next 2 weeks and he really needs to get a response in the mail b4 that.

Did she say "law" or state guideline? I don't know of any states whose laws are that specific on something like that...but I do know that many state guidelines address that kind of issue. Guidelines are not law, they are guidelines for judges to use in making orders.

Do your husband's orders address this?

If it is court ordered that the bills must be presented within 30 days of receiving them, then those are the only ones your husband is responsible for, any older ones are her loss.
