My brother and I rent an apartment in ontario california.
We now want to go our seperate ways. We are both on the month to month contract. My brother gave 30 day notice on the 15Th of january. I did not sign the notice that the landlord provided for both of us to sign. I want to move on the 15th of february also which would be 30 days from my brothers written notice. Do we both legally have to give written notice or is one of us good enough. They wanted both signatures but didn't get mine. If I can legally move on the 15th without being obligated for further rent, what civil code would that fall under? I would need something to show the landlord. Thank you
