I am moving out of a friends house because we are not getting along as roommates. He asked me to move out for this reason. He gave me 6 weeks to find a new place. I never signed a lease. The 6 weeks lands on March 1st, 2001. I have found a new rental and they want me to move in on February 1st, 2001. My roomate asked me to pay rent for February since that would be 30 days notice. I don't feel I am obligated to pay rent for February, but we decided to split the rent in half and I could take 2 weeks to move out. Now he wants me to pay 100% of Februarys rent. What am I obligated to? Am I responsible for Febrauary's rent?
Thanks in advance,
Rick

Thanks for the qucik reply.
I didn't really get my question answered though.
This person is not really a good friend and I am not concerned if we are not friends in the future. I don't believe he is short rent money this month.

sorry to stick my nose in here, but you said there was no lease. Did you sign anything about the agreement you made with him when you moved out? Cause it seems to me if you never signed anything, he's pretty much SOL, and you're in the clear
