What is the name of your state? IL
I have my 341 meeting in OCt. I noticed that on the paperwork that my attorney mailed. It showed the name of the judge and the name of the trustee. The name of the trustee is a chapter 7 attorney. When I was considering attorneys I saw his name on the web.
My question is that a good thing? My lawyer told me that how smooth a 341 meeting goes and chapter 7 process depends on the trustee.( how nice they are or how much of a a-hole they are.) And also, is the judge involved in the meeting?

All Trustees are lawyers and many of them have their own practices including bankruptcy.

The judge will NOT be involved in the 341 meeting. It will be you, your lawyer, the Trustee and his/her staff - along with a whole lot of other people who have filed for bankruptcy.

Easy

The 341 meeting is easy and you have your lawyer there. They ask basic questions most of it is in the petition already. The judge is not involved in the meeting and I never saw the judge that discharged me. I wenyt to the meeting and 90 days later the discharge was mailed to me. The creditors did not even show up to the meeting in my case.

At my meeting I went early and sat in on the 1pm cases.
When those were done the trustee got up and sat down next to a couple waiting for the 2pm cases. At the start of the 2pm cases 1pm trustee was the first lawyer up. I had a good laugh about that.
