My husband and i have filed ch7. we have our 341 meeting scheduled and we are a little nervous as to what happens during this meeting. we have to bring with us the last 3 year fed tax forms and copies of statement and cancelled checks for 90 days before we filed. is that normal procedure. what happens at the creditors 341 meeting. how long does it last for.

What your Trustee is asking for is pretty standard. Are you sure about the cancelled checks though? Ours just asked for 3 months of bank statements.

Anyway, barring any complictions, the meeting will last anywhere from 5 to 10 minutes. It's pretty simple. Do you have an attorney or are you filing Pro Se? If you have an attorney, your attorney will ask you general questions. If you are Pro Se, the Trustee will ask you the questions.

Here's a link of the general questions that might be asked: http://doney.net/client/ch7_trustee_341_questions.htm

Don't sweat this meeting. NO creditors showed up for our meeting and from what I've read most creditors don't bother to show up for ANYONE's 341. As long as you haven't tried to hide anything and have been truthful on your application, you should skate right through it!
