What is the name of your state? Texas

My question if someone could help me out please is, I have had 4 drug tests in the past month. one random test fine....two...i can even understand. 4?? in a month? Is this even lawful for a company to do? I'm clean, i don't even use drugs, my attendance is great my work ethic is great, why if i show no outward signs of being a user (Or maybe i should say "how?") can a company keep doing this. People at my work are starting to wonder and it's making me look bad. I need advice please!! :(

why if i show no outward signs of being a user (Or maybe i should say "how?") can a company keep doing this. Because they can, even if it's a waste of time and money to test the same person so frequently with no cause. Are you saying you've been chosen four times at random for drug tests?

Long story short.

At work a joke was made about Weed. I was involved in that joke, another employee lost it and went to HR telling of my drug use. (The joke was an obvious joke) nonetheless i understand people can take such things out of context. So be it. So i was tested for drugs within the next day. I passed. No drugs... for the next three weeks i was tested again an again for a total of 4 times till date. I might get more i don't know. Agreed i shouldn't talk about such things at work. (Basically said something looked like a joint) Friends laughed all good, yet one employee obviously didn't find it to be funny. (I can understand that) However it's getting kinda old. Point made by HR that i shouldn't make jokes out of drugs. Fair enough. Yet when do they cross the line? Any way i can make them stop. Truly moreover it's an annoyance, and rumor is getting around the office of the goings-on. Even if i can just take a sheet of paper pointing to a law would be great, but i know of no such thing. I don't want to quit or sue,...just want to work and take home my check. Thats about it.... please feel free to ask as many questions as you please.

Thank you. :)

Point made by HR that i shouldn't make jokes out of drugs. Yep. That's like joking about having a bomb in your carry-on bag while standing in the security line at the airport.

Even if i can just take a sheet of paper pointing to a law would be great, but i know of no such thing. Nope. They can test you as often as they want.

I expect this will die down in a few weeks and the testing will stop. You're just going to have to chalk it up to a painful learning experience. Your employer obviously takes maintaining a drug- and alcohol-free workplace very seriously.
