Massachusetts. A friend borrowed $400 so her car didn't get repossessed. She's now decided to stop speaking to me and has blocked me on most things. I have screen shots of the texts and bank statement of the transaction. She Hasn't paid back anything unless a few $.99 bags of chips count. Would this hold any ground in small claims court?

The filing fee is only $30. If you win, you'll have a judgment that's good for 20 years, and will accrue interest at 12%. At the end of 20 years, you get another judgment.

Mass is also better than most states at helping you collect. They'll set up a payment hearing, and if she doesn't show up for that, you can get a capias warrant for her arrest.

Unfortunately, this requires you to pay these fees up front, but they get added to the judgment
