What is the name of your state? MO:confused: Is a 401k program a required benefit by an employer after a specific employment timeline?

Nope. If you work in the private sector, your employer doesn't have to offer any benefits of any kind at all (with the exception of Hawaii where employers have to offer group health coverage.)
