What is the name of your state? Pennsylvania
i was working for a private corporation of 10 doctors which was bought out by a hospital 8/1/2003. the corporation which i worked for is closing out all its books. i want to get my 401k which has still not been released and i have not been given a time table on when i will receive it. we need the money to buy a house. i am willing to take the penalty. how do i get my money asap? thank you

Don't hold your breath. I also have a 401(k) plan that was closed last summer. The paperwork to close the plan wasn't submitted to the IRS until December and we were told it could take six to twelve months to get the IRS "letter of determination". The funds cannot be distributed until then.
