What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? North Carolina

I was convicted on December 15th, 2010. My lawyer was not aware of the 45 day suspension, so it was a BIG shock to me. I was wondering, however, if my court date was included in the 45 days? I am desperate to get my license back, I work and go to school an hour away, so you can imagine how hard this has been. My 45 days come up to a weekend, so if it does include the court date, I'll be able to drive that Friday, if not, I'll have to wait until Monday. Please answer me!!!

You won't automatically be "unsuspended." You will need to go get your new license. If you go there on a Friday and they refuse to issue you a new license, then your 45 days aren't up yet.

Thank you all for your replies! No, I do not want to go all to the friday night parties, I just want to be able to drive myself to work, I hate bumming rides, I'm sure my family is tired of it, I don't have a day off, so neither do they! But to the other replies, you've all been very helpful. I will go to the courthouse on Friday and see what I can do, it is extremely relieving to be able to drive three days before I thought. These 45 days have been absolute hell, as I am one of the busiest people.
