What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Louisiana

I recently sold a bunch of items on Ebay. They were coupons for lift tickets at several ski resorts in Colorado. One item evidently did not make to its desired location. A guy from California now wants to take me to small claims court because he now has to pay full price for (4) lift tickets. He wants to sue me for the difference. Coupons were for a $55 lift ticket, full price lift ticket is $92. The difference is $37 times 4 which equals $148. I cannot prove that I mailed the coupons but trust me I don't think his purchase price of $2.25 was worth me scamming him. On the other hand he can't prove to me that he did not receive the tickets and is now trying to blackmail me. I have refunded him back his money ($2.25 - original purchase price) but he is threatening me with small claims action. I am sure he can do it, but what are his chances. I am not flying to California to defend myself. Any help would be appreciated.
