Okay I just got a letter from my land lord 81days after my lease was up demanding additional 1259.00 over my deposit. I only lived in that house for 5 1/2 mths.the repairs they sent me were totally false.I left that house very clean and i have witnesses but thye live in texas as well . This house is in Missouri and I had friends and family come help me move and clean but if i go to court I can not very well ask these people to miss a day of work and drive 12hrs to testify.

Okay I sent them a letter stating that in Missouri Law they had 30days to send me a written copy of damages on the reason why withheld my deposit if they fail to do that then i can sue them for double my deposit. i hope that shuts them up but if not what do I do ? Want the judge see that my witnesses live out of state and can not afford to miss work and drive 12 hrs. i will also have to take off of work and drive 12 hrs. for thid false accusation can I sue them for miss wages and cost? This house has been on the market for 2yrs and i believe they are trying to upgrade the house at my expense. What other actions can I do to protect myself? Help!!!

A letter from an attorney may work wonders, there's just something intimidating about that. Check the MO statutes again, they may not be entitled to damages anyway since they did not notify you. If it gets to that point the get affadavits from the witnesses, not as good as testimony, but still valid.
