1 -- Me & my fiance are getting married in September. He currently does not have health insurance (he is self employed), his ex carries the insurance on their 2 daughters. I have heard that I could get them added onto my insurance, but I wasn't sure if I could since they would just be my stepchildren. Anyone know anything about this?
2 -- We have been told that he is paying an incorrect amount in cs. The way his business works is have a salary of X amt per wk, but at times they clear more then that too. (Whenever they finish a job he draws a certain amt from that job) His cs payments were calculated from a previous years Gross Salary, but this is not necessarily what he will make again. A friend had told us that he should file for it to only be based upon his "salary" instead of the extra he may or may not get in a given year.
It's not that he cares to pay cs, but the amount he is paying can be a bit difficult during times when he doesn't clear as much money. How much they get to work depends on the weather and due to several rainy days a few mos ago - they didn't finish a job so it was tough to make his payment for the next month. That's when a friend brought up the fact that he could probably have it reduced due to that is not "set income."
Any ideas on this would be appreciated.
