A JUDGEMENT AFTER 11 YEARS??

MY ONLY QUESTION IS SIMPLE THE STATE IS N.C. 11 YEARS AGO I LET A CAR GO BACK, AND OF COURSE IT WENT ON MY CREDIT REPORT. I NOTICED A COUPLE OF YEARS AGO IT SHOWED CHARGED OFF. NOW I GOT A NOTICE I WAS BEING TAKEN TO COURT (which i missed because im in va now) THEY HAVE A JUDGEMENT ON ME NOW ON MY CREDIT REPORT. SO CAN THEY DO THAT? AND CAN THEY GARNISH MY WAGES AFTER 11 YEARS?? THANK YOU SO MUCH!

In addition to IAAL's reply (turn the caps lock key OFF), you need to also furnish the following:

1) What month and year was the car 'returned'?
2) What month and year was the car 'written off'?
3) What month and year was the lawsuit filed?
4) What month and year was the judgment rendered?

Finally, Your post is confusing in saying, " NOW I GOT A NOTICE I WAS BEING TAKEN TO COURT.... THEY HAVE A JUDGEMENT ON ME NOW ON MY CREDIT REPORT." If you just got a notice of being taken to court, how is there a judgment on the credit report?

And, yes, judgments are valid for 10 years in North Carolina.
