Please Help! I am renting a condo that I own to a family member. She was responsible for payint the condo fees and the remaining balance to me. Needless to say she hasn't paid the condo fee in the past year and the association is coming after me. I never recieved a notice or statement about the past due amount. I just recieve a legal notice about a lien being placed in 30 days if payment isn't made in full. I will get the money from my family member but what should I do in the mean time? What are my rights? Can they place a lien without letting me know about the late payment?

lien on condo

They must give you notice of the late payment only if it is stated in your agreement with the association or in the condo bylaws. Otherwise, no notice is due. All their rights and yours are in the agreements or bylaws. If they do place the lien, they will most likely remove it when you do pay them, rather than levy on it.
