What is the name of your state? Colorado

I am almost 17 and my boyfriend (who is currently in Iraq) is almost 20. When he comes home we would like to become sexually active (and we have not already done so), but if this is illegal I will break it off so no harm can come to him. I have heard the rumors of a four year law in Colorado that says something like, "If one of the people in a sexually active couple is under the age of 18 and one is over the age of 18, and if the act is consentual, as long as the one over the age of 18 isn't four or more years older than the person under the age of 18, it is perfectly legal under the law." Is this law in existance? And secondly, would it mean that we could consentually have sex since we are a little under three years apart?

**A: if you have to ask then wait until 21 or you are married, whichever comes first.
