a bad situation ... kindly advise...

accident summary = woman swerves to avoid a U-turning motorist. this causes her to jump a Large curb in a Geo Tracker. this causes $1650 in damages to the vehicle <believe it or not!>

problem = woman was led to believe she was insured with compensation, on this vehicle she is still paying off. title has lein for 7 more mos. the agent, who cannot be reached... told her initially that
"while keeping full coverage, you can save $600 by dropping theft and fire, which you don't need"

well... this agent issued a policy that consisted of liability only.. but at a price that led woman to think it was still full coverage. i had believed it also!!! while the "agent" cannot be contacted, someone at the office confirmed no coverage is on the policy... so now where can we turn? my understanding was that NY state law states a vehicle with an outstanding loan must have full coverage.

a policy was misrepresented, in my estimation... basically a bold faced lie! my Girlfriend does not have the knowledge of insurance and coverages to see herself getting screwed as its happening, and now she finds out too late, but there must be some recourse?? and the amount she has been charged is very high compared to basic liability also... which leads me to suspect the "missing" agent may be a scam artist, or in the least...
falsifying documents, and failing to disclose information...
in that "theft and fire" is where "collision" lies.

to tell her she is covered... just cannot be excused!

Get rid of the girfriend!!!

Anyone dumb enough to sign things without reading it or asking questions or using this thingy called a KOMPOOTER is trouble....

If she does this just think what more stupid problems you will have when you get married....

There was something on the news the last couple of days someone sold bogus insurance polices out of a legitimate office in Queens....

BUT dont marry this woman untill you have a LONG LONG LONG talk with her about responibility of signing things! If she is CLUELESS.....

Then Find a woman who is NOT!

Chapter One of "how to get dissed in a forum of your choosing"

(alternatively titled "How to piss off people and not make friends")

first of all, nobody asked for comments like that.

second, take a good look at some of the dumb **** you've done in your life, and ask yourself if your remarks dont apply to yourself also.

are you fully prepared ahead of time for every ****ty thing that happens in your life before they happen?
that would mean bad things dont happen to you,
all knowing godly one, you are my hero!

and finally, at what time does someone sign anything at an insurance agency? i never did... and your paperwork does'nt arrive until two months later.
the only thing you get at the time of a policy's writing, is a blue slip which is proof you bought insurance....
which at the age of twelve you would'nt have had to do yet :)
so get a clue, or some experience, before commenting.

oh, one last thing... you are being flamed.
just in case you did'nt notice...
this is because your advice SUCKS

End of Chapter One...
Stay tuned for next chapter....
"Why don't women read?"

YOU are correct:

Why dont women read?

And most importantly why dont women ask questions?

And why didnt you go to a nationwide auto insurance company?

And YOU DO get a copy of the limits of your policy when you sign, so

This is a very expensive lesson in Life skills!

PS....maybe thats why you like her, she doesnt question anyone in authority.....if thats they way she is...then GET USED to paying for her mistakes.

i came here for advice, not jackass remarks...
your father needs to put you over his knee kid, and teach you some manners. crapping on ppl's threads is not only impolite...
it allows everyone to see what kind of idjit you are.

Unfortunately it looks like you're going to have to pony up for a new front end for the Tracker.

It doesn't seem as though you have any claim against the insurance company. To them the transaction was simply that you bought Policy X that in included A, B and C and you paid this much money for it. Perfectly legit as far as they're concerned - you got what you paid for.

The agent presents several problems -
1) You say you can't contact him, I guess that means that you can't locate him. Large problem.
2) If you could find him, you would probably be hard pressed to prove any fraud on his part. It would be a typical he said-she said kind of thing - unless you had some document provided by the agent that showed what he was proportedly selling you. (You already have the policy, which shows what you ultimately bought - the other half of the fraud). Another large problem.

Unfortunately it looks like all the problems on the list are large - sorry.
Maybe you could pursue the agent through the state insurance commissioner - maybe this type of thing is a habit with him.

Hope something in here helps - good luck,
