What is the name of your state? Fl

If your are of reasonable intelligence and have a computer you can research your own caselaw file motions and lots of other good legal stuff and save money

I was charged with harrassing phone calls, a misdemeanor. Me and the ex-wife were busy tending the duty of setting out the times for visitation of our two young children and as she had done in the pass and continued to do post marriage she started the same old (S*#*) hense the divorce, she was able to find a kind hearted deputy that thought how to interject law enforcement in marital law affairs (ex) never the less having been charge with a crime here in Florida i looked in to finding an attorney the best price that could be found was $3000.00 for this case i thought better of that. so i showing up to all the pretrial hearings, the prosecutor offering me great deals for me to give up all my rights but not ready to forgo these rights . the rights i speak of are the "rights" of a person charged with a crime.

One should think long and hard before one ever gives them away to a prosecutor that is just busy tring to keep their case load low hence the deals they offer but they are no deal to speak of . a criminal record for life fines ect... if one is innocent. one should never sign that paper

Back to the case at hand, i had noticed that the 90 days to be brought to
trial had passed so i filled i simple motion with the court to dismiss this do to the speedy trial right had been broken, and a hearing was set. prosecutor and defendant and judge. judge reads motion judge then turns to prosecutor and said i have looked through this file and i see no wavier from this defendant as to his right to a speedy trial , no tolling of the time, prosecutor
red faced said no there is not one, judge then turn to the defendant an said
case dismissed.

$ 3000.00 saved and life gose on i see the kids each and ever weekend that is mine and no longer the product of the exwifes power that she thought she had over me and i tell all it did not cost me $3000.00 for a motion to dismiss :)

PRO SE is the way to go (IF YOU CAN)

How very nice for you.

Was there a question in there? Or was this a sharing exercise?

Oh I forgot there are smart arses on this form page
Hmm ... well, considering it's a forum for making inquiries and not a pat-yourself-on-the-back site, I was curious about your point in posting your particular 'success' story.

I could post success stories all day if I'd like. But ... why?

Carl Please lose no sleep on my account, it is a point i wanted make to remind the people that lawyer are not as necessary as they would all like us all to think.
There are times they can bring in some good things to the table but it is not in stone that they are the all knowing and if one dos'nt have a bar card one can not even approtch a court in a meanig full way.

Thats all silly man
