What is the name of your state? New York

I made a payment to a collection agency via western union of course they recieved the money what I want to know is if I should ask for a confirmation letter even though I have the western Union receipt? I know it's not wise to speak to these "people" on the phone any suggestions

What you are looking for is written proof. The WU receipt is proof you sent it but not necessarily proof it was received. But, I think WU can provide delivery proof if you ask for it.

Ask for a confirmation letter if you wish. I think you are entitled to an accurate accounting and records of your payments.

But, this "wisdom" that you should never talk to a CA on the phone is, in my opinion, not always wise. Personally, I've always accomplished more on the phone than by trying to write letters. Before any phone call, you should know what you want to accomplish and be focused on that goal. Of course, you should never agree to anything under pressure.

My two cents.
