Why is it that the only advice ever offered on this forum is "See an attorney"
If the OP had been picked up in almost any other state for going 85 mph on the interstate he'd simply pay a hefty "speed tax" and go on with life with no worries about travelling between the US and the UK, or with getting delayed on entry into the US. In Virginia in addition to slapping you with a big fine, there are judges who will sentence you to time in jail if you get convicted (Google it).

There are plenty of situations where people can help themselves and the folks here are great at finding free or low-cost resources for those situations. This is not one of them.
