i have a child support order since 1994 and been paying on time.this order is according to my salary and my salary has not changed significantly.i am going to lose my job shortly.i may get a lump sum of money from my employer.is it legal for a judge to order that i have to pay a lump sum to my ex when i recive this money.why should i pay a lump sum to the ex as long as i am payinf child support?please advice.

If you continue to pay child support and do not try and get it reduced then you will not have to pay any lump sum. It is your money to do as you want.. Of course, you are keeping this to yourself and not telling anyone who could inform your ex, right ? If they get wind of it they can decide to petition to modify the CS and then it may be taking into account and used in the calculations...

Keep paying the CS on time and do not tell anyone about the lump sum ..
