I first came to this site several years ago, naive, emotional and not even close to as knowledgeable of the law as I thought I was. The seniors here are brutal with their honesty, and as a newbie, there were times I took this honesty personally and attacking. However, it has been through this brutal honesty, I have learned how to separate my emotions from the facts of the law. I have learned what questions to ask, what motions to file, what is and what is not "legal" advice; what to do, what not to do; how to be a better divorced parent; how to get a great attorney!
Without this site and the dedicated efforts of the senior members and others, I would have remained naive, fighting the wrong battles from the wrong side. In the past month, miraculous events have occurred in my situation with both child support and custody issues. Without YOU, these things would not have happened.
I offer my humble apologies to anyone (stealth, especially) for ignorant responses to advice offered in the spirit of help and guidance. I offer my sincere gratitude to all of you, volunteering to share your wealth of knowledge and experience to those of us desperately in need of understanding, guidance and honest advice.
My journey is in it's 8th year, and it is not over yet. But moving forward. For everyone in the midst, be patient, do the right and lawful things...listen to the folks here, even if they don't say what you want to hear...even if a response seems harsh, is likely to be soft in terms of what you may hear in the courtroom.
You have helped to change my life and the life of my child, forever. Words cannot express the gratitude I feel for your efforts and for this invaluable resource.
