i am a texas resident. my husband and i were married over 3 years ago while on vacation in lanette, alabama. we had lived together about 5 1/2 years before marrying. the last week of march 2001, we relocated to theodore, alabama and were living in our 21 foot travel trailor in an rv park, and my husband said he wanted a better life for us. the last week of june, i called him and he informed me that he was tired of me and never wanted to see me again, leaving me with no way to contact him. he also had already maxxed out all of the credit cards, his, mine, and ours and then he went and closed the bank account and took out all the money leaving me nothing and he turned off the cell phones and the regular phone. i am a handicapped person and i do receive ssi, but not unti the 3rd of the month. he abandoned me with no way to get that travel trailor back to texas and left me with no money either. he also told me i could keep all the bills because he wasn't going to pay any of them. i don't even know where or if he is employed. the last place he said he was working was in pascagoula, mississippi, but who knows? is it a crime for him to abandon me that way and what can i do about it and the debt he left me with? also, we own land together and since he abandoned me, do i have any rights to have his name removed from the deed?
