What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? MI
My husband had submitted a couple of motions back on 2/23 to the county clerk (re: clarifying part of the parenting plan and review of CS).
He called today to make sure they had his correct updated address to mail the court date info to (which they did), and see if the date had been set. They said nothing was set yet and that they were waiting for a date to become available and when they found one, it would be no sooner than 14 to 21 days out from time of notice...anybody have an idea how long it takes to find a date? He and his ex have never gone to court besides for the original divorce years ago, so they've never had to play the waiting game for dates.
Originally, when he filed, the clerk's office said that the parenting plan piece is usually set within 21 days (today is 21 days on the nose) and the CS part takes up to 6 months because of the investigation and review process (makes sense).
Personally, I'm not too upset that it sounds like it may be a while...his ex emailed him that she got the motions served to her and sounds like she may be willing to come to try to come to an agreement before they even have to go to court She said she's filing her answer and her motions and then will try to come to an agreement (no mention of what her motions were about).
Whatever motions she files, will they be addressed at the same court date as the ones my husband filed, or do they each get a different court date?
Thanks for your help!
