What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? CO

This will all be happening from my website, curious if everything I plan on doing will be legal and fair.

I want to run a tournament/competition, the winner will receive free Items. I see this done all the time, but I would just like to make sure it is all legal.

Here is the snip:

A clothing company has given me free gear, technically it is not free cause they are paying me for another deal with gear instead of cash. I was coming up with ideas to what I could use the items for, am I allowed to run a competition, the winner will get the gear for free, is that legal or will I have to have some sort of license?

Thanks

No, there will be no fee. The only thing that I will likely get out of this and want is friends telling friends about the site adding up to more traffic, and successfully achieve my goal of my site being a friendly and welcoming place.

Thanks for asking that, It will probably modify the answer tremendously.
