In Flordia, my mom left a trust account to me and my two sibblings. I went there and with the papers to get the monies do to us. I was asked by the bank assist if I would be opening a account with them. I said yes, so I could distribute the funds between us. My husband was with me, he asked if he would also be on my account. I said yes. He procided to tell us about some man that suied them, the institute, do to the wife seeing his savings account, that had came in the mail. I thought what is he talking about.
So I opened account believing I was the primary account holder with this institute. When the mail came a week or so later I opened the check box and it listed my husband first on the checks then my name below. A few days later a Visa check card came, debt card, only for my husband. I was upset to say the least. I told my husband this is not right. And we are closing the account. I told my husband not to say a word. So we went in and I gave them my SS# and nothing came up on there computer. So in other words my husband had to close the account. I no that in-laws have no
rights to your inheritance. What do you think I should do. Is this a Civil Matter?

Bank error

It sounds like the bank made an error; however, if you did close the account, I assume you got the money, so other than some inconvenience, you have no loss. Since there is no loss, there is no bank liability.
