NY traffic tickets have two boxes: SPEEDING GEN101 and GENERAL GEN101A. People seem to think this has some bearing on their ticket. It really doesn't. All it indicates what sort of supporting deposition the officer is making.

So, what it means is he got a ticket for something after an accident. Now he can come tell us what the actual charge is and tell us what he wants to know about it.

That's certainly news to me.

There is no such thing on a Uniform Traffic Ticket. There are fill-in ovals for the most common charges, not boxes. However these are not charges.

What you refer to is printed on the TraCS-generated supporting deposition I believe. Doesn't mean anything really.

Look at Section B under "Plea of Not Guilty" on the right side of the single sided computer printed version.
