My husband hit a woman's car who was driving very fast in a private hotel parking lot. No police were brought to the scene, however we did give her our information. Do you HAVE to pay for damages to a vehicle that gets hit in a private parking lot, if you really have not determined who was at fault?

The focus should be on how the accident occurred, not where the accident occurred. I am not saying that you should pay, nor I am saying that you should not pay. If you would explain the facts, we can give you a better idea of who may be at fault. Be as detailed as you can and remember to include your state (also, make sure to mention whether the parking lot had markings on the ground, and the amount and location of damage to each vehicle).
