On 3-5-00 my 9 year old son accidentally set fire to the inside of a wall on the house we were renting. I called the fire department because at the time my son denied causing the fire and fearing it may be an electrical problem. The wall was torn down and now I'm being sued by the insurance company because the company paid the claim??? What are my rights??? Do I have to pay??? What is my chances in a small claims court?

YES you will have to pay, it was damaged and the insurance company paid....

NOT GET THIS ONCE AND FOR ALL......

DO NOT EVER RENT SOMEONE ELSE HOME WITHOUT RENTERS INSURANCE

I have $40,000 contents and $100,000 liabilty for $228 in New York City from Travellers.

If you had it, all you would be liable for is the $250 decuctable, and maybe not even that if your son didnt do it.
