What is the name of your state? West Virginia
I have been a member of a hunting club for 2 years and hunted there a week ago. I killed a deer and took it back to my truck when the owner of the adjacent property confronted me and accused me of killing the deer on his property. I assured him that I only hunt on the property with which I am a member and he took down my license number. I now have a DNR officer continuously calling me threatening to "charge me" and if I don't accept the citations he will take it to court. He actually told me he and the property owner "have known each other for a long time."
My questions are: What authority does the DNR have, and what could I be charged with?
How could they possibly prove these accusations?
What steps should I take?
