What is the name of your state? North Carolina

My room mate is going through a REALLY nasty divorce and his soon to be ex wife has accused me of overdosing her children and giving them DRUGS. She has custody of her 9 year old cousin and she has a son who is bioligicly hers and he is 5. This is what she is accusing me of.

The 9 year old has been diagniosed with ADHD and she had been sending him to visit my rooom mate with a drug called Medadate. She is accusing me of giving him Aderal. I have NEVER administered medication to this child. She sent her 5 year old with some over the counter dimatapp because she said she had taken him to the doctor and the doctor diagnosed him with alergies. The 5 year old was given the dimatap per instructions on the back of the bottle by me with the fathers consent. This woman has brought these alligations up to her divorce attorney.

I am pursuing a nursing degree but have taken a semester off from school since I have just moved to North Carolina. I am very scared that these accusations are going to effect my being able to get back into a nursing program since she stated in the e-mail she sent my room mate that she is pursuing this matter with child protective services and she is pressing charges on me! I honestly dont know what to do and I am DESPERATE for some help! Please.. if you can help me or turn me in the right direction I would forever be greatful. I plan to defend my self in court as I have no funds for a lawyer so if any one can give me ANY advice it would be so appriciated! Thank you!

Just a question....in one sentence you said you have NEVER adminstered medication to this child. A couple of sentences later, you said you medicated the child with the fathers consent and per instructions on the back of the bottle.

Can you clarify? Have you medicated the child or not? Medication is medication. Doesn't matter if it is over the counter or a prescription.

While you use the term, "roommate" I take it you have a romantic/sexual relationship with the children's parent/guardian and that you are aware that the state of NC still has and enforces statutes re cohabitaiton between unmarried parties of oppisite sexes. If so, expect that to become an issue. By administering any form of medication to either of the children, without both parents knowledge and or permission could indeed be problematic.

Now as to wether or not you administered the ADHD Rx. First of all you mispelled the name of the medication it is Metadate.

Metadate CD, is just a reformulation of Ritalin for sustained delivery this is a newer medication. Because it releases over several hours it delivers a smoother dose throughout the day having some advantage over Ritalin because they don't have to be dosed while at school.

It is similar to Adderall, and Concerta perhaps that is where the confusion occured? Are you sure you did not administer or assist in any medication to the 9 yo?

How will this affect your nursing career? It depends on what happens. Accusations made in good faith in divorce proceedings are not slander.

I have no sexual realtionship with this man. Both JAG and his attorney said our living arangements were fine. I have my own bedroom and he has his own bedroom and we are just FRIENDS... nothing more.
Good call on catching my mis -spelling. I was very frustrated and not paying attention.
I know that if this lady brings up accusations in a court of law that wont be considered slander, how ever if she decided to file charges or calls child protective service I am not quite sure what I can do to defend myself or protect myself from her.
I really worry that this woman will go so far as to drug her own child just to have something to use agains me. I know it sounds silly but it does happen.
I feel that I have been pushed to the point that if this little boy was visiting his daddy and got ran over by a car I couldnt help him because she would find some way to pervert my actions.
