Addional Job Responsibilities

After working as a librarian for over 12
years in the same library, can an employer
demand that I now have to act as the Internet
Police? About a year ago my library installed internet computers and now the
librarians are expected to sign patrons
in and out of the Internet workstations; check patorn's ID; monitor patron's Internet activities plus have a good
general knowlegde of computer upkeep and
know how to find things on the Internet.
This additional responsibility is very
time consuming not to mention totally aggravating.

All of these things are certainly within the management's right to task their employees with. So if these are the things you have been asked to do, then you have to do them.
