At the very least I'd get in there and take a decent paper /photo inventory of contents and put in a few discrete remote cameras ...might prove useful if anyone except the heir enters and removes "stuff" ....which might well be theft.

SF might be "salty" but is he dumb enough to risk a criminal charge of theft ?

Again, you have no official powers until properly appointed with same.
