Arkansas. A co-worker of my mother's is 62 and went to the Social Security office to see about beginning to draw his benefits. As a child, he (along with a boat-load of orphans) was brought to the U.S. for adoption. The SS employee asked him for proof of citizenship. He provided his adoption papers (and SS card), but was told that wasn't sufficient. The employee was rude and not helpful, refusing to tell him what was required. This little fellow doesn't know what to do. I suggested that he contact one of the legal agencies that assists those with minimal resources, but she asked if I would see what I could find out online first. Any ideas?
