What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Ohio.

My daughter's stepfather of ten years has recently requested permission to formally adopt my daughter. I know that my rights as a father will terminate. Will I still be obligated to pay child support?

No. If the child is legally adopted, then not only do your parental rights terminate, so does any finicial suuport owed.

As posted in OP's other, identical thread, this is true unless there is an arrearage.

ETA: OG posted a correction in the other thread:
NOt necessarily correct. certain counties have it directly on the paperwork that arrearages cease to exist at the time of adoption.
